Naloxone (Narcan) is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose. It attaches to opioid receptors and reverses/blocks the effects of other opioids. It can quickly restore normal breathing to a person if their breathing has slowed because of an opioid overdose. Be a hero and carry naloxone! 🎥 Sé Un Héroe Este vídeo nos muestra cómo usar naloxona. Too many teens don't realize fake prescription pills (that look exactly like real ones) often contain fentanyl—which can kill in tiny amounts. Fentanyl is showing up in other drugs too, like cocaine and meth. The more we know, the safer we all are. 🎥 Cuidado Con El Fentanilo Este video advierte a las personas sobre los peligros de comprar pastillas en línea. Inspired by WIRED's Autocomplete Interview, this video delves into the dangers of fentanyl in counterfeit pills, how to avoid illegal fentanyl, signs of fentanyl exposure and how to help those who are experiencing these signs, and most importantly, personal advice on avoiding peer pressure from taking fentanyl. 🎥 La Verdad Detrás El Fentanilo (Las preguntas más buscadas en el web) Los efectos mortales del fentanilo a menudo se pasan por alto debido a las tensiones de la presión social entre los jóvenes; este cineasta respondió algunas de las preguntas candentes de Internet sobre la verdad detrás del fentanilo. The Napa Opioid Safety Coalition honors the 12 lives lost in Sonoma County from drug related overdoses in recent weeks. As we mourn our neighbors, we are reminded of the presence of dangerous drugs across our region and the ever changing drug landscape which includes an increase in fentanyl laced drugs. Fentanyl is an extremely potent opioid and you can’t see, taste, or smell it. Naloxone, an opioid overdose medication and fentanyl test strips, are both important harm reduction tools that can help reduce opioid overdose deaths, however 100 percent safety or accuracy is not guaranteed. This tragedy underscores the importance of staying vigilant and never assuming safety when it comes to taking any substance that is not directly prescribed to you and taken as directed. Please stay alert, look out for one another, continue having conversations about the risks, and remember those we have lost. NOSC remains committed to leveraging partnerships to prevent opioid misuse and support substance use treatment through safe opioid prescribing, harm reduction, education, and easy access to treatment.
